My dear Kate
I quite understand your wanting to keep out of our way for the moment, but I want you to know that I have no inclination to find fault with you. You and I must have a relation as far as possible independent of Peter — You can write to me at above address, if you feel like it; I am here every Wednesday. I don’t want to argue about you with Peter or about Peter with you — I only want to be friends all round — I should like to come to Cambridge to see you when possible, unless you would dislike it.
Trinity has offered me a fellowship and lectureship, which I shall accept. I am very glad about it — it heals the old wound of 1916. This makes it definite that I must be in England next autumn.
Much love.
