BR TO GILBERT MURRAY, 5 NOV. 1948
BRACERS 52417. TLS. Murray papers, Bodleian
Edited by W. Bruneau. Proofread by K. Blackwell

18, Dorset House,
Gloucester Place,
N.W. 1.
5th November, 1948.

Dear Gilbert,

Thank you for your letter. I shall look forward to getting your Oedipus. I shall never forget your describing Sophocles as a mixture of matricide and high spirits, nor your subsequent denial that you had done so.

I must look up your article in the November Contemporary; I imagine that I should agree with you pretty completely.

I have not seen Cecil’s treaty, which you mention.

I hope you will manage to look us up, if not for lunch then at any other time, but not Thursday as I am always in Cambridge on that day.

Yours ever,
<signed> B.R.
