Dear Gilbert,
Thank you for your letter. I shall look forward to getting your Oedipus. I shall never forget your describing Sophocles as a mixture of matricide and high spirits, nor your subsequent denial that you had done so.
I must look up your article in the November Contemporary; I imagine that I should agree with you pretty completely.
I have not seen Cecil’s treaty, which you mention.
I hope you will manage to look us up, if not for lunch then at any other time, but not Thursday as I am always in Cambridge on that day.
