23 November 1950.

Sir Stanley Unwin, LL.D.,
40, Museum Street,
W. C. 1.

Dear Unwin,

Thank you for your letter of November 20th which I got on my return form America two days ago. I am told that the runners up for the Nobel Prize were Churchill and Croce but I do not know whether this is true.

I do not wish to give any lectures while I am in Sweden. I have had my fill of lecturing recently and one of the advantages of the Prize is that it will enable me to do less of it.

I should hope to see you soon when I have got through arrears of work.

Yours sincerely,
<signed> Russell.
