BR TO ALLEN AND UNWIN / STANLEY UNWIN, 13 SEPT. 1950

Sir Stanley Unwin, LL.D.,
40, Museum Street,
London, W.C.1.

Dear Unwin,

Many thanks for the Beachcroft book which I shall read with much pleasure. I am glad you got home safely after your mishap. It is most satisfactory that you beat Simon and Schuster on my sales.

I do not wish to receive a half-yearly cheque at the end of this month, as it pays me better to get my royalties after the 5th of April, for reasons you can imagine. I shall be curious to hear your verdict on my son’s satirical story when you have read it.

Yours sincerely,
<signed> Russell
