Dear Unwin,
I enclose herewith the draft agreement concerning Freda Utley’s book. As far as I am able to judge, it seems to me a satisfactory agreement. I do not know the legal position of the American publishers, but I see from your letter to my wife that you are ascertaining it.
I was not able to see Freda Utley while I was in Berlin, as she was in South Germany.
I was very pleased to get six author’s copies of Human Knowledge and I congratulate you on having got ahead of Simon and Schuster.
I see from the very satisfactory half-yearly statement that I got from your firm that my History was nearly sold out at Michaelmas. Is it being reprinted, or has the supply of paper given out?
Yours sincerely
