BR TO ALLEN AND UNWIN / STANLEY UNWIN, 7 JULY 1947

7th July, 1947.

Sir Stanley Unwin,
Messrs. George Allen & Unwin, Ltd.,
40, Museum Street,
W.C.1.

Dear Unwin,

I enclose herewith an attempt to describe my new book. I am afraid it is a little longer than you wanted, but you can probably condense it. If you think my compendium1 too dry I will try to write another, making the book sound more exciting. It is not the sort of book that can have the wide success of the History, since it is, in part, considerably more difficult.

Yours sincerely,
<signed> Bertrand Russell.
