The editor of Nineteenth Century removed the opening laudatory paragraph of the review. Is this not unusual, BR asks re Eisler's review of History.

Dear Unwin

You will see from the enclosed that the editor of the Nineteenth Century has cut out the opening laudatory paragraph from the review of my book. Is not this a somewhat unusual action? I should have thought a reviewer had a right to express his opinion of a book.

Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
