Dear Warder
Ever since I took my History to Simon and Schuster I have been shy of writing to you, for fear you were vexed with me. But now, being about to sail for England, I want to make sure that we are still friends, and to say emphatically how much I hope this is the case.
You lent me at one time the proofs of a book, The First Europe, by C. Delisle Burnes.a I have been unable to discover that it was ever published. Can you let me know what happened to it? It seemed to me an excellent piece of work.
Yours very sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
