BR TO W.W. NORTON & COMPANY, INC. / WARDER NORTON, 25 OCT. 1940
BRACERS 47370. ALS. Norton papers, Columbia U.
Proofread by K. Blackwell and A. Duncan

Commander Hotel
Cambridge Mass.1
Oct. 25, 1940.

Dear Warder

The page-proofs have not yet reached me, but I suppose they soon will.

Carnap, who has been reading my proofs, has suggested some points which involve more change in the page-proofs than you will like. I think I can avoid upsetting the spacing.a I presume I shall have to pay for alterations beyond a point. Can you let me know what sort of rate of expense I shall land myself in?2 The matter is of some importance, as Carnap’s good opinion is rather essential. It is a pity there was no way of getting hold of him sooner.

Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.

Approx 12¢ per line (even a comma means a line) and if changes affect the line length, resetting must be done to end of paragraph.b
