Dear Warder

Thank you for your letter of Oct. 15. I don’t think I can manage a popular article on mathematics; I told Harper’s I couldn’t some years ago.

I should of course like having any book of mine pushed, but Principles of Mathematics is very far from popular, and I don’t see anything that I can do, either about it or the Inquiry.
