Dear Warder

What made me sad was not your care for my financial interests, but the fact that you shared the feelings of the American public. However, I relieved my feelings by writing you a nasty letter, so, as far as I am concerned, the matter is ended. I am sorry for delay about the proofs. I wrote and telegraphed to Harvard without effect, presumably because you had not sent them by mail.

What made me think I must have sent you a letter meant for Unwin was your saying I had written saying I didn’t want to read the proofs. I meant to say this to Unwin, not to you.

Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
