Your solution of the problem as to the title of the Amberley Papers is excellent, and I consent whole-heartedly, as does my wife.

As regards Princeton: thank you most warmly for your help. I wrote to Abraham Flexner, following your advice. I explained to him that the work I want to do is on the borderline of mathematics and philosophy. I do not at all want to have anything to do with politics or economics, in which I am an amateur. One of my chief reasons for desiring the post is that I have ideas of a logico-mathematical character that I wish to develop. I have done one paper (for the Aristotelian Society) called “The Limits of Empiricism” which has been regarded as important; and there are ideas for a magnum opus if I had time to develop them. The work could count as mathematics if there is a desire not to create a department of philosophy. I should be delighted to teach mathematical logic to advanced students.

Beyond this letter to you I am doing nothing till I hear further.
