Roy is much pained by the account of the visit paid by him and his daughter in 1953, recounted on p. 70 of Auto. 3. He quotes a letter of invitation from BR that Roy dates as July 1, 1969. The letter is record 12511, dated June 26, 1953. (Perhaps the ribbon copy was later and dated July 1, 1953.) Roy's transcription of the letter lacks the final paragraph, which merely gives directions.
