Hugh Elliot hopes the proofs of BR's essay on pragmatism have reached BR.

A small attached note says in Edith Russell's handwriting: "Hugh Elliot" and in BR's: "[Brother of Lord Minto and of Arthur Elliot, editor of the Edinburgh Review]".

Hugh Elliot forwards a letter from Longmans Green about BR's collection of essays, Philosophical Essays. The letter is at record 6457.

Margaret Elliot congratulates BR on winning a prize and mentions seeing Montagu Butler. Probably, therefore, this is a reference to the Trinity Prize Fellowship won by BR on 1895/10/10.

Grace Forester (1878-1973) is a daughter of Lady Georgiana Peel, who was herself a daughter of Lord John Russell and his first wife, Lady Ribblesdale. Grace married first Joseph Wingfield Henry, divorcing in 1916. She married 2nd,  Lt.-Col. Hon. Francis Henry Cecil Weld Forester. The Henrys' daughter, Joan Henry, was born in 1914 (with a twin), and died in 2000.

Forester wants to know whether BR liked "Mama's book", probably Recollections of Lady Georgiana Peel, edited by Grace's cousin, Ethel Portal.

Nyerere received BR's letter of 1966/11/10 immediately after hearing and replying to BR's press statement that Nyerere had withdrawn from sponsorship of the BRPF (see B&R C66.43).

In the enclosed press release, document .181796, Nyerere explains that he does not like his name to be used for other people's purposes. "I also object to a serious matter like the Vietnam situation being dealt with by trickery and dishonesty."
