I should be glad to do an article of a thousand words or less on “What is Democracy?”1 I have no patience with the Russian view that democracy means a brutal tyranny of the few over the many; it seems to me the worst example of political hypocrisyc known to me.
You do not say how soon you want the article, but I could send it to you within the next ten days or so.

“What is Democracy?” The article appeared in the Manchester Guardian on 4 May (B&R C46.05; 46 in Collected Papers 11 and 20 in Collected Papers 24). It also appeared in a pamphlet (B&R B84) issued by the National Peace Council on or about 22 Aug.
