Dear Céleste
Jackie’s attack of measles has run a normal and uncomplicated course, and she is now practically recovered, though still in bed. After measles it is necessary to take care for some time, avoiding over-exertion and chills, but there is no longer ground for anxiety in her case. We have been having a number of cases, none of them bad; at the moment, Kate is the worst. Probably Jackie will be well enough for you to take her away in about a week or so. Till then, she will be at Battine House, where we have been keeping all the measles cases. She was very well until the measles, and improved morally; she worked well and was charming. We are all very fond of her.
I am glad you got back safe from the Sahara; I was afraid Mr. Célestea Holden might be on your track again. We shall be here for a week or more, as we cannot get away for our holiday on account of the measles.
Warmest and sincerest good wishes, as always.
Yours
Bertrand Russell.
