Dear Mr. Marsh,
Thank you for your letter, with its unprecedentedly generous offer. If I had been going to stay in America for any length of time I should have been very much tempted to accept it, but I shall be there only three weeks, and practically all the secretarial work involved will have to be done before I go there. I shall, however, hope to see you when I am at Harvard, and I hope you will take steps to that end when the time comes.
I tremble to think what you must have discovered if you have given me the same sort of attention usually given to Kant and Hegel.
