Elizabeth Hervic,1
5/220, Old South Head Road,
Vaucluse,
New South Wales.

Dear Mrs. Hervic,

Thank you for your letter which I found very touching and very moving. The fate of Jews, wherever the Nazis could get at them, was a horrible thing which the world will not soon get over, but you and your husband took the brave road, the only road by which one can survive in sanity2 through such experiences as yours.

I do not wonder that you found the loss of your husband almost unbearable, but you have come through successfully and the memory of your life with him will remain with you.

I should be glad to hear from you again if you feel inclined to write, or to see you if you were ever in England.

With profound sympathy and best wishes,

Yours sincerely,
<signed> Bertrand Russell
Bertrand Russell.
