BR TO ALYS RUSSELL, [4 NOV. 1910]
BRACERS 21108. ALS. McMaster

TRINITY COLLEGE,
CAMBRIDGE.
Friday

Dearest Alys

I am writing to say various things I am sure to forget. (1) We must go to Frank’s at Xmas, I think, but for as short a time as may be, say 23rd–27th. (2) On Sunday Nov. 6 I have to read a paper at 9 p.m. at the Sunday Essay, because the man who was to have read has suddenly fallen through. I am therefore not available after dinner. (3) Karin wants to meet Laird, the only other person who is doing Part II. Will thee chaperon her to breakfast Sunday 6th? Breakfast would be at 9.30 and might last sometime, so thee would have to keep most of the morning free. (4) It will be a hellish bore staying at the Lodge, but I posted thy letter to Mrs Butler. Does thee think we could get away for Sunday luncheon and have a party in my rooms? (5) There is no knowing which of us Mrs Ladd Franklin was writing to, so will thee answer, simply saying we have no influence with the Nation?

Thine aff.
Bertie.
