My Dear Alys
Crompton was at Cambridge as well as the Mathiesons. Mathieson is a brother of Percy Mathieson, who turned up at Cranmer Rd. He is also the brother of a minor poetess whom I used to see at Pembroke Lodge. I saw all the world — had a walk and talk with Keynes, who gave me his dissertation to read; saw Sanger and the Society and Mrs Ward and the Rackhams and Helen Verrall and Eckhardt and innumerable other people. Nevertheless Alfred and I managed to get a fair amount of work done.
All well with me.
Thine aff.
Bertie
