Dearest Alys
Thanks for letter and clothes. I have not written of doings here because they are ordinary sea-side doings. Alfred and I are busy all the morning, till just before luncheon, when I take Eric for a bathe. After luncheon I go a walk with Alfred, and after tea we play cricket on the sands, or do something of the sort. The country is very nice about here; one gets good views, and there is moorland all round. After dinner we play bridge. Alfred is going ahead at a great rate with his part of the book, of which not much remains to be done. He doesn’t seem to mind not having got the post.
What shall I say to Frank about bicycles? I hardly feel that I need a new one just yet. Does thee?
Very good, getting £3 from Miss Sands.
I will send off some dirty clothes tomorrow. I shall leave London with Sanger either at 2.20 or at 8.25 p.m. on Friday, so my things will have to be back Thursday night.
I am sorry I forgot the date, or I would have sent thee good wishes on thy birthday. When one has no engagements, it is difficult to know the day of the month.
Thine aff.
Bertie
