Monday
Dearest Alys
Yesterday we walked along Loch Maree, and over a pass to Gairloch, which is an actual sea-side place with a sandy beach. Then after lunch we came on here in lovely weather. Today we have only a short walk (8 miles) to Altbea, tomorrow a long one to Ullapool. Then we shall walk towards the railway, which I shall manage to reach on Thursday. Crompton continues so amusing that one can hardly walk for laughing. I can’t yet tell what hour I shall reach Oxford, as I have no Bradshaw. It will not be later than 8.44 but may be earlier.
Thine aff.
Bertie
