PRINCE OF WALES’ LAKE HOTEL
GRASMERE
Wednesday evg.
Dearest Alys
We leave here tomorrow, and our address until further plans will be New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale, Ambleside. — I have looked up the night journey to Kirkby Lonsdale. The following are the alternatives:
Oxford G.W. dp. 9.50 p.m. (down platform)
Rugby G.C. arr. 11.13
“ L & N.W dp 2.2 a.m.
Low Gill arr. 7.42
dep 7.48 [No danger of missing, as it is a
guaranteed connection]
K.L. arr. 8.20
Or
Oxford G.W. dp. 9.22 [up platform]
Paddington arr. 10.50
Euston dp 12 midnight
Thence as before.
The second journey is better, of course, if thee is in London anyhow. In any case, it would be more comfortable, though more expensive.
Please don’t forget to bring my cheque book. All well here.
Thine aff
Bertie.
