BAGLEY WOOD,
OXFORD.
Tuesday
Dearest Alys
I am sorry thee waited in vain for me, it hadn’t occurred to me thee would be waiting. Miss Corbett put the Comee. at 12, as I found when the post came after I was up; so I went up by the 10 o’clock after doing an hour’s work. It was Miss Corbett’s mistake — at least that was the general opinion. — We decided to support the Liberal in Forfarshire; he is not wholly satisfactory, but the Tory is an out-and-out opponent. In Glasgow we may be supporting the Tory, but it is not known yet.
I had lunch with Mary Sheepshanks and came down by the 2.40. There was a lot of rain, but it stopped before I reached Oxford.
Thine aff
Bertie
