My Darling Love2 —
How disappointing about the house. I hope Randall’s friends will take it — it will be a nuisance if it isn’t let. I should let them have it quite cheap if necessary.
I enclose £50 for your month’s money. I thought of waiting till you arrive but it occurred to me that you might be short of cash. I have paid wages and odds and ends here, which will about equal the expenses of your journey, so we can reckon they balance.
ABC goes ambling on. I have now written 14,337 words, nearly a third. But I am afraid it is too difficult.
Kate has come on wonderfully — I am sure you will notice a difference. She says everything. John wants help with his lessons, but I haven’t time for it in the mornings, which is when it is wanted.
All well. All love. Shan’t write tomorrow.
B
