My Darling Love1
Many thanks for letter and papers. All goes well here — both children flourish exceedingly, and sleep and eat splendidly. John’s table and chair arrived at tea-time yesterday so we unpacked them in his presence and gave him the things to go with it. He was wild with joy, and used every bit of “apparatus” and this morning after breakfast he sat down to his table in preference to his puffer and all other joys. Kate is very happy, and says “tairs tairs” even more vigorously than in London — she likes the clock and your piano. John keeps on saying “Isn’t this a lovely place?” and he praises the sunshine. But I think he likes the engine in the pink house best of all. — It is in the west attic that the rain came through — over the window. Otherwise the house has stood the winter well. — Darling I do miss you. I long for you to be here.
Very glad about Sands. Don’t want to let Sydney Str a whole year. Haven’t got lecture puffs anywhere where I could find them. Do as you like about Gapp’s coffee. Am hard at work on relativity and have book about Apes.
All my love, my Treasure
