My Darling Love1
Thank you for your letter. I am glad you keep warm and your leg isn’t bad. Give my love to Dot and say I’m glad she looks after you. Kwan Yin is back — the damage is scarcely visible and I don’t think she is offended.
Last night at the Sangers Titi, having lost her mother, kept on attacking me for being an atheist. It was vexing. There was an egyptologist who was interesting and told me a lot about hieroglyphics and the origin of the Phoenician alphabet.
John gets more delicious every day. He has several new words — e.g. corn and bicycle — and says sentences, e.g. “up we go in chair” when he climbs up. He is very flourishing.
I have nearly finished “Philosophy since 1900”. I shall be glad to see you again. You rouse my expectations about the feast — I shall be disappointed if there are not shark’s fins and crocodile chops. All my love and many kisses, my sweet Darling.
