My Darling Love1

Thank you for your letter — what a long time your train must have stopped at London Bridge. — John flourishes, but keeps on asking for you. When he sees me he says “nose” and suits the action to the word by pulling it.

The industrialism book has come. It looks very nice, and I think it would strike anybody as interesting.

No word from Frau Hathey.

I wrote 11 pp about Philosophy since 1900 yesterday, went to the Times Book Club, and spent the evening contemplating murder (in a detective story). It is dull without you, so I work too hard. I hope you are having lovely weather, as we are, and thoroughly enjoying escape from household cares. I wonder how your leg stood the journey and is now. I look forward to Thursday.
