My dear Colette
I was very much touched by the present of “sweet lovely roses”3 that you gave me for my birthday. I wanted to tell you how grateful I was, but I did not know your address. I have now been told an address4 which I hoped may find you. I do not like not being friends with you or knowing what is happening to you.
Much love.
