My dearest Colette
Thank you for your two lovely letters.2 I quite appreciate the prohibited-area feeling. All goes well with me except that Conrad3 says he won’t ever see me again unless I promise never to see you. I have of course refused, so that’s that.
The prohibited-area business4 won’t last for ever — I should think not beyond September.
I am upset about Conrad, with whom I have just had an angry talk on the telephone.
All my love, Darling Colette.
