My dearest Colette
The end of the term is getting near, and I hope before very long you will be with John2 and Kate3 and me in Cornwall.4 I don’t know the exact day I shall go, but it will be not later than July 10. Any day after that would be all right, and for a long as you care to stay until near the end of July. The station is Penzance, and I will meet you at the station. A good part of the day-time will be spent on the beach with the children, but the evenings will be undisturbed, and we needn’t always be with the children in the day-time as they will have a governess,5 but I like to be with them a good deal. I am longing to see you again.
