My Darling
I have just had a letter from you written Dec. 92 (it came later than one written later) which worries me. You say you have having a bad time and 10 to 1 you will survive — I should like to know what is the matter. It is dreadful not to know. I hope your later letters will tell — Dear one, my spirit is always with you in love and tenderness.

letter from you written Dec. 9 There is no letter of this date in the “Letters to Bertrand Russell from Constance Malleson, 1916–69” typescript. However her original letter of 9 December is extant (BRACERS 116394), although it is not complete. She writes that “I’m having a pretty hard time, about which it is no use to go into details.” The letter that paraphrases this letter in the “Letters to Bertrand Russell from Constance Malleson, 1916–69” typescript is dated 16 December (BRACERS 116432). The date is changed to 9 December in the BRACERS record. She never enlightened BR as to what the problem was in her extant letters.
