BR TO OTTOLINE MORRELL, 30 JULY [1913]

My Darling
Your note came a moment ago — I went round to Bedford Square immediately and saw your lights still on, but hadn’t the courage to ring as it was 11. I only told you I was busy so that you shouldn’t think I was moping — I could have done all my business in 10 minutes. I am so mad to think of having missed this time we might have had that I don’t think I shall sleep a wink all night. I am free all day tomorrow except lunch at 1.30. Do please come in the morning as early as you can to make up for having missed this afternoon. I shall expect you at 10 or earlier! I longa for you Dearest. They were divinely happy days. Quite marvellously so. Goodnight my Heart
