My Darling
Mrs W. went off early this morning to look after suffrage pilgrims in London. W. is away till tomorrow evening, so I am left to Eric and North and his bounders, who are staying another week! But I am quite happy with them. Our time together has made me enormously happier. I am so sorry I wrote such a depressed letter — I suppose it was just nervous fatigue, because I don’t feel at all depressed now.
I am afraid too that I wrote you a horrid letter in the train yesterday — I dare say it was quite untrue, and I am very ready to be convinced, but it is important to me to be able sometimes to discuss you, so I do hope it can be done without hurting you — I wasn’t feeling at all in a way to hurt yesterday — quite the reverse. — I had half hoped for a letter this morning. Don’t restrain yourself from writing — the more you write the better for me — but if you are busy it doesn’t the least worry me your not writing.
I go to Camb. Saturday — I wonder whether you will have time to spare Monday. If you possibly can, do give me some moments Wed. and Thurs. (I start 9 p.m. Thurs.) As I shall be away a month, you will have time to catch up if you put off things that can be put off. I know that just now if we meet we shall be happy — so it seems sad to waste the moments.
Post is going so goodbye. I long to know how you are and just to see the sight of your handwriting.
Your
B
