My Darling Love
It was a joy to get your letter this morning but I am very sorry you have had a bad headache. I do hope it won’t come back. Don’t be nervous about Monday — I am sure it will be heavenly. I know I shan’t be horrid, and it will be all joy from beginning to end. So don’t feel tense and anxious about it if you can help it. I should love to dine with you unless you could dine out somewhere, which I suppose you couldn’t. — Yesterday I sent off a syllabus of my popular lectures3 in America — so now I am committed as to what I am to lecture about. I have made them much more simply exposition of previous results, so that they will be easy to do. I must do them in September. I shan’t get really rid of worry about work till I come back from America. After that I shall have a free mind again.
I wonder if you have had an answer from Conrad? I will expect you about 10.30 Monday — if you know of any nice country expedition we might make it. I should love to see St Anne’s Hill — but I should be perfectly happy if we went nowhere. I am sorry I muddled Thursday. I am keeping myself from getting excited as best I can. I shall stay till Wed. morning as I dine with Sanger Tuesday night. If you are likely to be later than 10.30, please let me know. I would rather not be expecting you a long time. — Goodbye till then my Darling.
