My Darling
Here we are just arrived at Penzance, in order to go to Scilly tomorrow mg. We get back from there to here Friday, and go back to Marlborough Sat. I wonder how you are and how things are going with you. I long to know.
We have had long outdoor days — it is a beautiful coast and I love it and it does me good. I really feel easy in my mind as regards you and me — as long as I arrange my life as suits my work, I shan’t be so exacting — whatever you feel best to do about meeting, I will acquiesce in. Work keeps on worrying me, but as I get rested I feel more able to cope with it. I shall work when I get back to Lockeridge. I can’t see my way with my popular lectures. It was all work-worry that made me horrid lately. It is so hateful to make you suffer as I do — I wonder if you are feeling unhappy now, or just dead — I am still rather dead. Eric and North are very good Companions. My head is quite empty. Do write when you feel an impulse to write — it will be a joy to hear from you. And do tell me how you are. Goodbye my Darling. All is well really with me — I am half asleep, but that is momentary. My loving thoughts are with you always.
Your
B
