My Darling Love
It is sad that Vittoz wants you to stay on, but if he does you good it would be worth a much longer stay. I am not at all hurt by your not wanting me to come out. It is really better for me too — I ought not to spend the money, and the time too is rather precious, while I have this book in my head. I should like to have got the whole first draft done — until that is done, I shan’t really have a free mind, but shall have the sense of something unfinished that I ought to be finishing. When I have finished the first draft I shan’t mind leaving it for ever so long to mature.
I enjoyed my visit to the Whiteheads yesterday — they were both very nice. Whitehead is fairly well again, but still tired. I stayed to dinner and came back by the last train.
Wittgenstein is here so I can’t write much. I am still writing as hard as I can. I go to the Whiteheads again for Monday night, so would you please address your Sunday letter to my flat as I shall sleep there Monday night. I haven’t slept there since the last time I saw you.
The heat is oppressive but it suits me well enough. Mrs W. repeated how well I looked — she says I am getting fat!
Goodbye Darling. Much love. I must stop.

B
