My Darling Love

Your dear little letter has just come — I am so glad you rested. No, I don’t get “weary and disgusted” when you are tired. I know what is within even when you are least expressive. And it makes us talk about different things from the things we talk about at other times. I love every moment, always. How nice it is having the Flat where we can be undisturbed. It is much better I should be in Bloomsbury, because it makes it not surprising if I am seen there, as well as for the other reasons.

Did Bonar Law make as great a fool of himself as P.W.W. says? Comparing railway men to gangs of ruffians seems not very wise. A little more of that sort of thing will undo all Asquith’s blunders and Lloyd George’s Insurance Bill.

I am still not prostrate with rheumatic fever, you will be surprised to hear. Geach went away as I was finishing my letter last night — he offered to post it which was awkward, but I got out of it somehow. He had been interviewed by Pease at the Education Office and thought him an awful fool. The only question Pease asked without being prompted was whether Geach was married.

Everything is happening this week-end when I am away. Lady Lowe writes to say Cecil Burns is coming and wants to meet me — Moore is reading a paper I ought to hear — It is lucky my being away has nothing to do with you. — George Trevy has been here a moment, in a great state of mind about the discrepancy between Grey and the Germans. He is coming back soon. It is possible I may not have time to write this evening — I shall expect you at the Flat about eleven. (I shall be there earlier myself.) I am rather tired and stupid this morning — only from having had a lot to do. This afternoon I lecture on Space, which is a difficult topic both in itself and to make clear. Now this must be posted and I must get on with preparing my lecture. Monday December 4 (8 pm) I have an Aristotelian meeting so if you are free I can stay all day and sleep at the Flat — my meeting would be over about 10, so I could come back to you a little while if you were free — Forgive this stupid letter. I do love you Darling with all my strength and with all my heart.

Your
B
