My Darling Love

Don’t feel me on youra mind tomorrow morning. I shan’t get to my flat till about a quarter to twelve, and then I shall have plenty to do if you can’t come. Of course if you can it will be delightful, but if you can’t I can spend my time easily. I went to see about fenders — they were all either dear or hideous, so I ordered one which was hideous and cheap, and I thought I would wait and see if that was tolerable before taking further steps. Apparently it will be 10 days or a fortnight before it is ready. By that time I didn’t have to wait for my train, but had only just comfortable time to lunch. — Only 2 people turned up at my Comee., Julia Kennedy and G.E. Green, who is a leading Liberal here. So we got through the business very quickly — which was lucky as I had to lecture at 5.30. After the lecture one of the men came back with me to ask conundrums — then a fresh batch of proofs came from the Press — so I was kept occupied. I wrote for your cigarettes — I hope they will have come by tomorrow.

It was very delightful todayb in spite of being so short. Dearest, I really think you ought not to put off going to Combes if he can have you. It is too wretched that your headache and eyeache goes on. You don’t wear your pince-nez much — do you no longer believe in them? — Tomorrow we must read some Dante, as we shall have more time. — What fun the flat is — and it is nice to be free. Truly I do feel the stairs ought to have been avoided. You must take them more slowly Darling. You have made the flat most charming — it is a wonder how nice it is. I love everything — I am longing to give you tea in it. But I do feel just like a child with a doll’s house.

Goodnight my Treasure. Tomorrow at one I will come unless you come sooner.

Your
B.
