My Darling Darling

It was divine today — part of the time I didn’t feel very expressive, but all the time it was divine. I suppose you were giving special sympathy on account of my worry — the worry is quite gone, and I feel fairly sure there was no real need to worry. Isn’t it strange how there is an undercurrent of quite wonderful things even when our talk is about the merest trifles? There is so much we both feel without needing to say it. My Dearest, your love is such a wonderful and beautiful gift. Yesterday afternoon I read over a few of your early letters — your love is so full of strength — you do give so much and so generously — you give me the joy that is as deep and serious as the greatest pain. — It strikes me more and more how much alike you and I are — I felt it over your indignation with Mrs Fleming.

I quite forgot to ask you whether Monday morning would be possible for you — I have my lecture in the afternoon, but I could stay till the 3 o’clock train. Travelling really doesn’t tire me at all.

I went to the Flat and gave the message. If Monday is possible, tell me whether Bedford Square or the Flat. But if it is inconvenient I shan’t be surprised.

All you feel about everything seems so intimate and natural to me — especially when I laugh at you!

Dearest, today was wonderful — it has deepened and strengthened everything. Goodbye Darling. I do hope you won’t be terribly tired.

Your
B.
