My Darling

This must be only one line as I have no time for a letter. I had a walk with Keynes, who came back to tea; then Ogden came, then my lecture, at which the nun reappeared. My German was very argumentative and tiresome. He wouldn’t admit that it was certain there was not a rhinoceros in the room. Since then I have had to talk to Geach, and now it is almost time to dress for the feast — I hope I shall keep awake! Probably there will be a letter from you at 8.30, and it will wait ever so long before I can get it. I expect I shall have a levee in my rooms after dinner. Friday night I read my Aristn. paper to the Moral Science Club, so I am tied here then. Sat. I have Miss Silcox in the afternoon — not Arthur Russell and Adela Aranji — they are coming Wednesday 15th.a — I enclose some French proofs of an article about me3 — the first 2 or 3 paragraphs express what always happens with me. When I first published my definition of numbers everybody found fault with it — then insensibly they all came to accept it. It is only the first few paragraphs that would interest you. It is an article I got in MS at Peppard — they didn’t print it till they had asked me if I thought it worth printing, which was a compliment to my candour, as it is a criticism of me.

Goodnight my Darling love — I am already looking forward to Friday morning 10.45. No time now. Goodbye my Beloved.

Your
B.
