My Darling
Owing to my change of plan, there is no letter for me here today, which is sad. I ought to have telegraphed.
Prisons has come at last. When I haven’t looked at it for some time, I begin to doubt if it is any good, but on re-reading it this morning I became satisfied again that it is not mere talk. I am sending the other copy to the Whiteheads — I don’t know what either of them will think of it. I am posting one copy to you in Vienna by the same post with this; I hope it will reach you. I shan’t want it back, at any rate till after you are home.
I haven’t much time now, correcting prisons and packing took up my morning. I do hope you are well and no longer feeling faintness and exhaustion. I mind you being no longer where I have seen you and can imagine you — it makes you farther off. But I am very happy really.
I wonder whether you would mind telling me what Philip got from Miss Sands about Mrs Whitehead. If you don’t mind, I should like to know.
Goodbye my Dearest Love. I wish I had time to write more.
Your utterly devoted
B.
