Thursday night
My Darling
Your letter has just come, and I have only time for one line. I feel that you have something on your mind and I am anxious to know what it is — I don’t suppose it is Julian’s illness. I am constantly guessing at it but without success. I am thankful it is such a short time till tomorrow morning. Today I saw Karin, who gave me the family news — I will arrange about going to Alys for a week-end. Goodnight Dearest. I long to be with you, all the more because I want to know what is troubling you. Dearest, don’t be afraid of worrying me, or afraid I shall be difficult. I do want your happiness. Goodnight, my heart.
Your
B
