BR apologizes for the delay in his response. He notes that T.S. Eliot "is a re-incarnation of Henry James — a snob and (spiritually at least) a eunuch".

Dear Mr. Lavin1
I am sorry to have been so slow in answering your letter. Marcus Aurelius says I mustn’t say it was because I was busy. I am glad to hear you have the means of going on with your work.
T.S. Eliot, whom at one time I knew very well, is a re-incarnation of Henry James — a snob and (spiritually at least) a eunuch. But I would not defend the “Free Man’s Worship”:a though my opinions are roughly the same, I think it too rhetorical.
With all best wishes
Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell
