Dear Mrs Hervic1

Your letter of July 15 moved me profoundly and I should wish to find an adequate reply, but that is difficult. Certainly your friend’sa advice to forget is not right. In great sorrow, nobly borne, there is a wisdom not otherwise obtainable, a comradeship in the load of universal sorrow, a gain in the power of giving help to others in great grief. I believe that you will find this, and give helpb to your children and others beyond what would otherwise have been possible. I feel this in what you write. May you live and in due course emerge.
