Barely legible in an unidentified hand (probably the recipient’s) is a list of Melbourne newspapers to be notified about the press conference and the note (presumably a reminder to order) “1 bottle Scotch 2 bottles dry sherry”.

  [date] Since the date-received stamp is illegible, the telegram has been dated from the location of the office of origin in Canberra, where BR spent only two full days (18–19 July).
