BRACERS Record Detail for 120986
To access the original letter, email the Russell Archives.
BR informs Lasky he has remembered that the lecture (B&R A81) Lasky wants to publish had been previously published by Cambridge.
BR cannot locate the manuscript but is having CUP send Lasky a copy of the book. He is sorry for the long delay in replying and to seem "so unbusinesslike; many of my papers were sunk at Trondheim".

Dear Mr. Lasky,
I am deeply ashamed that your letter has been so long unanswered. First, owing to Christmas and my absence, I did not receive it till Jan. 2; then, when I did, I vaguely remembered that the lecture in question had been published somewhere. I have only today found out where: it was published by the Cambridge University Press. I have asked them to send you a copy. I can’t find the MS. I think your offer was probably based on the belief that the lecture had not been published. If, however, you do wish to print it none the less, I should not desire a fee, though possibly the University Press might demand something certainly less than $100.
I am sorry to seem so unbusinesslike; many of my papers were sunk at Trondheim.
Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
