Kotte notes that the letter is written on Portmeirion letterhead and is stamped 12 July 1946. It concerns permission to translate "Physics and Experience" for a Swiss pamphlet edition.
Fleckenstein (1914-1980) taught in Basel where the pamphlet was published, and BR had recently lectured there.

I am sorry I had not time to answer your letter before leaving Switzerland. The translation rights in Physics and Experience1 belong to the Cambridge University Press. I should agree to anything satisfactory to them, with one proviso: Physics and Experience is one chapter in a large book I am writing, and I should wish to reserve the right to have it appear at its proper place in a translation of that book. The book, however, will certainly not be published in England before 1948.
