BR TO JOHN CONRAD RUSSELL, 13 DEC. 1944
BRACERS 111016. ALS. McMaster
Proofread by K. Blackwell

Dec. 13, 1944

Dear John

Thank you for your letter. I will come up on Sunday, arriving King’s X 4.13. I will look out for you and Kate at Kings X. I can talk to your folk at 4 on Monday. I assume an informal talk will do.

You need not bother too much about cheapness in engaging a room; just now I am not hard up. Daphne visited us at the weekend and suggested that on Sunday we should all visit her. If that holds, I suggest we dine at a restaurant and then go to her place, I bringing a bottle of whisky. If she and David Bryson will come to dinner first, so much the better.

I think Peter will accept your invitation to all of us on Dec. 30; then we can celebrate Kate’s 21st birthday, tell her. Thank you very much.

We both agree strongly with your views on Greece and things in general — but I am glad you are not there. Love to you and Kate.
