Nyerere received BR's letter of 1966/11/10 immediately after hearing and replying to BR's press statement that Nyerere had withdrawn from sponsorship of the BRPF (see B&R C66.43).

In the enclosed press release, document .181796, Nyerere explains that he does not like his name to be used for other people's purposes. "I also object to a serious matter like the Vietnam situation being dealt with by trickery and dishonesty."
